Level 1 Hexblade Warlocks also receive the "Hexblade's Curse" ability , which curses a target to receive extra damage equal to the Warlock's proficiency bonus whenever the Warlock deals damage to them. It also reduces the number needed to roll a critical hit against that target by 1, and restores HP equal to the Warlock's Proficiency+Charisma Modifier when they kill the cursed target. A Hexblade Warlock gains Shield and Wrathful Smite as level 1 spell options.

Level 6 gives you access to "Accursed Spectre" , which allows you to raise an allied spectre from a slain enemy who was under the effects of Hexblade's Curse. Depending on the size of the enemy, you'll get a Feeble Spectre, Mundane Spectre, or Primordial Spectre. Larger Spectres have a few extra skills, and all Spectres act as useful allies in combat who can teleport to cursed targets.

The Sorcerer class is pretty powerful on its own, and the Warlock is the only option that adds meaningful damage to the class' already-powerful toolkit. However, by speccing into the Wizard class, the Sorcerer gains the ability to learn spells from Scroll s, vastly expanding its repertoire of options.

Navigating the world of Morrowind is far from easy, with players having to follow directions to reach certain areas instead of just relying on a map marker. It's also important to decide a character's predominant skills early on so that they can level up efficiently

For equipment, players can take advantage of the ever-useful lightning charge gear found throughout act 1. Martially inclined players can grab the Sparky Points Trident from Waukeen's Rest during Act 1, while those favoring spells as their main source of damage should instead take The Spellsparkler staff.

At several levels, players are given free spells that don't need to be slotted in and out of the spellbook. These spells include Bless and Cure Wounds at Level 1, Aid and Lesser Restoration at Level 3, and Revivify and RPG Onboarding Beacon of Hope at Level 5.

The Battle Master subclass is best known for its access to Superiority Dice, a limited resource they can spend to execute maneuvers and boost the damage of their attacks. Battle Master Fighters start gaining their subclass abilities at level 3 , where they select three Battle Master Maneuvers and gain access to four Superiority Dice (1d8) per short rest.

Outside of this, players could also use Eldritch Knight as their subclass when planning to multiclass heavily into other spellcasting classes, taking spells that are defensive in nature or otherwise require no attack roll or saving throw to be effective. This allows players to remain at low intelligence and still benefit from the Eldritch Knight spells they choose, freeing up those points to spend on stats that benefit their chosen spellcasting class.

Either buy the Winter's Clutches Gloves from Lady Esther on the Monastary Trail or obtain them from the quest "Avenging Glut's Circle", and then pick up the Snowburst Ring from under a loose floorboard in the last-Light Inn during act 2. These will inflict "Encrusted with Frost" when the wearer deals cold damage and create a patch of ice whenever the wearer deals cold damage with a spell, respectively. Head for Balthazar's Chambers in Moonrise and pick up the Coldbrim Hat too, causing all spell conditions inflicted to also apply two turns of Encrusted with Frost (but only to one target and only once per turn). This will allow the Cleric even more utility in Crowd Control by freezing enemies solid.

Finally, level nine Life Domain Clerics get "Mass Cure Wounds" and "Greater Restoration" as domain spells. These allow them to restore health to up to six creatures at once, and remove most negative effects from a target with a touch.

Of the eight choices of Ancestry, Red and Black are arguably the most useful. The Red Ancestry grants Burning Hands , a short-range cleaving spell with Fire damage, while the Black Ancestry grants the Grease spell, which can be ignited with any source of Fire and has a good chance to knock enemies Prone.

Great Old One Warlocks (sometimes called "Goolocks" by D&D players) make their pact with eldritch beings in the Far Realms whose goals are inscrutable and alien. At level one, a Goolock gains the power "Mortal Reminder," which causes them to frighten the target and all nearby enemies for a turn when they land a critical hit. This can be great for weakening enemy groups, though since it triggers only on critical hits, it can't be relied upon.

The Duergar race is one of the best races for Clerics in Baldur's Gate 3 because of their powerful Duergar Resilience passive, which is granted from level 1. This passive grants Advantage against Saving Throws for being Charmed or Paralyzed by enemies, as well as against Illusion magic.

Battle Masters might prefer a weapon with longer reach instead, such as the Dancing Breeze (Sold by Exxvikgap in the Rivington General.) This powerful glaive allows the wielder to perform a Whirlwind Attack, making an attack against all enemies within range. The Drakethroat Glaive also remains viable, as does the Moonlight Glaive and the Halberd of Vigilance. You could also consider Nyrulna, a legendary Trident that returns when thrown and causes thunder damage explosions when thrown too. It can also create cutting winds that blow back foes and create gusts of wind that also inflict thunder damage.
