The Duergar are a great choice for classes that need to remain defensive while staying mobile in combat. Though the Rogue gains the ability to go invisible at Level 9 with Supreme Sneak, the Duergar gain the ability to turn invisible from Level 5 once per long rest, granting Rogues this powerful skill far earlier than most will normally get it.

The Urchin background grants proficiency in Sleight of Hand and Stealth, so these two classic Rogue options are removed from their massive list of 11 possible skills. Charlatans lose Deception and Sleight of Hand, while Guild Artisans lose Persuasion and Insight.

Because of the extra Bonus Action, Thief Rogues can virtually always remain Stealthed, or Dash/Disengage to get away with their Cunning Action. Thief Rogues also gain resistance to Fall damage , which comes in handy more often than one might think.

Finally, at tenth level, Giant Barbarians gain access to Mighty Impel. This allows them to throw any creature that is medium-sized or smaller, regardless of their weight, as a bonus action while enraged. The throw range is fixed at 9m/30ft, which usually results in better range when throwing heavy creatures (unless your character has used an Elixir of Cloud Giant Strength to reach 27 Strength).

The path of Giants allows a Barbarian to channel the primal might of giants, growing in size and amplifying their strength. Initially, at third level, the Barbarian's rage becomes "Giant's Rage." This increases their size by one category when entering rage and doubles their rage bonus on throwing attacks (though a bug currently locks this bonus at +4, even at level 9 when it should be +6). They also gain the Thaumaturgy Cantrip, and the ability "Vaprak's Greed." Vaprak's Greed will increase the Barbarian's carrying capacity by a quarter.

The max level in Baldur's Gate 3 is Level 12, and most of the time, each level you gain will grant something new for your Druid build. On character creation you gain the basics for the Druid class, then steadily gain Feat Choices, new spells and abilities, subclass features, and increase your Proficiency Bonus.

No matter what, be sure to get the Stealth, Persuasion, Perception, and Deception proficiency. These checks naturally fall into Rogue playstyles, especially Stealth. If your Background covers any of these options, think about picking up Insight or Investigation, which can be useful for lots of dialogue checks.

At level six, the Druid gets "Primal Strike," treating their natural attacks as magical for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction while they are transformed. They gain Saber-Toothed Tiger as a Wildshape at level eight, which has the ability to shred through armor. At level ten, the druid gets access to four "Elemental Myrmidon" wildshapes, allowing them to take on Elemental throwing Mechanics forms to modify their damage type and take advantage of environmental conditions. (Lighting Oil on Fire, Electrifying Water, etc.)

"Dread Ambusher: Hide" simply allows them to hide as a bonus action. "Umbral Shroud" allows them to become invisible as an action as long as they are obscured. "Superior Darkvision" allows the Gloom Stalker to see up to 24m in darkness without issue. They also automatically learn "Disguise Self" as a first level spell.

The most broken way to play a Thief Rogue is to keep them separate from the rest of the party before combat, then sneak to a vantage point, and fire off a Sneak Attack for free before entering the fray. Oftentimes, this one-shots weak to medium-strength enemies.

Baldur's Gate 3 features a huge number of classic Dungeons and Dragons classes pulled right from the Fifth Edition of the tabletop RPG.
