This new subclass makes use of their Wildshape Charges to embody constellations and gain powerful new abilities, including firing blasts of light, healing a target for free after casting a spell, and unleashing a radiant breath attack. Dipping into Fighter is always an ideal move for any Class, especially the Bard whose slate of utility abilities could use combat enhancements by this Multiclass. Thanks to the Fighter’s more aggressive kit, a Bard can get into any position without worrying about survivability. All Wizards get access to a list of ridiculously useful out-of-combat spells, but Evocation Wizards specifically hone in on their ability to dish out massive damage in a short amount of time. All Wizards suffer from the lack of easily rechargeable spell slots, but Evocation Wizards can put these limited slots to good use – plus, Arcane Recovery can help when a Long Rest isn't possible.
As time goes on, the best Wizard build Subclass could change. But until then, the Evocation Wizard's ability to protect teammates from their own arcane destruction is really nice at Level 5, when Wizards pick up Fireball.
Other Class Support: While the Ranger is a decent thematic addition to the Bard, players should still consider dipping into other Classes further to maximize the potential of such a build. For instance, a single dip in Warlock can access Hex for a more efficient and reliable replacement to Hunter’s Mark. Meanwhile, dipping into Rogue gives Sneak Attack for maximum damage potential.
Among the Heavy Armour players will encounter in their Baldur’s Gate 3 playthrough, the Ring Mail Armour may be the first they find. Criminal (Deception, Stealth): An expert in breaking the law and getting away with it, Criminals are more than able to slip into the shadows when needed. Their Deception Proficiency allows them to lie without much consequence, while Stealth allows them to blend into shadows more efficiently, perfect for surprise attacks. This is the ideal Background for offensive, stealth-heavy builds.
Rogues' unique class feature is the Sneak Attack, which deals massive damage with a higher chance to hit, but can only be initiated if players have Advantage over a target. There is a melee and a ranged option, both of which will break Stealth when used.
