Spore Druids can make excellent use of any staff that has added damage, such as the Gold Wyrmling Staff (Act 1, Sold by Roah Moonglow at the Goblin Camp) or the Cacophony Staff (Act 1, Sold by Lady Esther at the Rosymorn Monastery Trail) since the bonus damage will stack with the necrotic damage from Symbiotic Entity. When paired with the Shillelagh spell these staves can dish out a surprising amount of damage while scaling entirely off the Druid's Wisdom. This can be further boosted using the Polearm Master Feat.
At level two, Light Domain Clerics gain the ability "Radiance of the Dawn", allowing them to dispel magical darkness and deal radiant damage to all enemies within 9ft as an Action. This can be useful since magical darkness can't be penetrated by non-magical means, and the radiant damage is also very nice.
The Great Old One Warlock is one of the best Warlock builds because of its access to powerful, battle-turning control spells that complement the class spell list. By binding oneself to a pact with the Great Old One, Warlocks gain the Mortal Reminder passive, which makes enemies Frightened on crits.
At level 9, Oath of Devotion Paladins gain access to the spells "Remove Curse" and "Beacon of Hope", allowing them to purge curses and grant their allies improved healing, advantage on wisdom saves, and advantage on death saves.
Players can also specialize in cold damage, taking advantage of powerful spells like Sleet Storm, Ice Storm, and Cone of Cold to create icy terrain and disrupt the enemy. The first thing players should do when building for cold damage on a spellcaster is grab the Mourning Frost. This powerful staff can be found in three pieces scattered across Act 1 and boosts cold damage. It also applies the "chilled" condition to anyone hit by the wielder's cold damage unless they succeed a constitution saving throw. This condition causes them to take double damage from cold damage and inflicts "frozen" on them if they receive the "Wet" condition. While Frozen, they take double damage from bludgeoning, force, and thunder damage.
Karlach : Best suited for the Berserker subclass, Karlach is capable of dealing some of the most consistent, highest-hitting melee attacks on her own, and with two supports you won't be at a loss for HP or dispels
At Level 5, Oathbreakers gain "Crown of Madness" and "Darkness" as additional prepared spells , allowing them to get enemies to attack their allies and create fields of darkness to conceal their allies. Level 7 Oathbreakers gain an "Aura of Hate," which lets them add their Charisma modifier to damage rolls. It also lets them extend this benefit to undead or fiend allies within 3m.
Since the Spore Druid can perform quite a bit of necromancy already, it's well worth tracking down the book "Necromancy of Thay" during Act 1 to unlock its secrets. Finishing the book will take until Act Baldur's Gate 3 Replayability, but results in a ton of extra undead minions in combat.
The Knowledge Cleric has incredible potential as a 2-level dip when multiclassing, since it gets two additional intelligence skill proficiencies. By choosing the Sage background, a Knowledge Cleric can start the game with 4/5 intelligence skill proficiencies. They can then use their Knowledge of Ages ability to gain immediate proficiency in an entire skill category for the rest of the day, which is best used to gain all the Wisdom proficiencies most of the time.
In terms of equipment, players using at least ten levels of Nature Cleric can take advantage of a powerful interaction between Divine Strike: Elemental Fury and any effects that are triggered when making an attack. The damage from Elemental Fury is triggered using the reaction menu and treated as a separate attack, allowing it to trigger effects a second time if it meets the requirements to trigger that effect.
Paladins of the Oath of the Crown swear themselves to the ideals of Civilization, of Law and Order. Oath of the Crown Paladins will violate their oath if they break their word, take unlawful actions, or torture people. At first level, they get the Channel Oath ability "Righteous Clarity", which can be used to give a target a bonus to their attack rolls equal to the target's proficiency bonus. While this doesn't sound too crazy, it can be a very effective and efficient way of improving an ally's chance to hit.
Another good option is the Luminous Set, consisting of the Luminous Armor, Luminous Gloves and Coruscation Ring. When paired with a certain mace we'll discuss later, this can make it even harder for enemies to hit you by reducing their attack rolls.
At level six, they gain Misty Escape, letting them turn invisible after taking damage once per short rest. Once invisible they can choose to cast Misty Step on their next turn, though doing so breaks the invisibility effect.
Finally, level 10 Hexblade Warlocks gain "Armour of Hexes," which lets them spend a reaction when attacked for a 50% chance of entirely negating that attack. This can be a lifesaver against powerful foes, though it's inherently luck-driven.
