Depending on your choice of background, your choices for Cleric starting skill proficiencies will change. By choosing the Guild Artisan background, players gain Insight and Persuasion proficiency, so it's ineffective to select these two skills again. Instead, go with Medicine and Religion.

Though many classes have a lot of leveling choices, as a melee class, this BG3 Fighter build doesn't have a lot of choices to make while leveling. In fact, at Level 2, Level 5, and Level 9, you won't have a major choice to make at all. In the case of the Barbarian class, they may now choose the Path of Giants subclass, allowing them to channel the elemental strength of giants to grow in size and throw their enemies around in various ways. They may also empower their weapons with elemental damage and the thrown property, allowing them to easily hurl greatswords and other two-handed weapons. This guide has been updated to discuss the new subclass, multiclassing options that pair well with it, and equipment that works particularly well with this subclass.

During Act 1, players should seek out Omeluum at the Myconoid Colony to acquire the Pearl of Power, allowing them to restore a level 3 or lower spell slot once per long rest. (Omeluum will sell the amulet once players help them to investigate the parasite.)

When it comes to multiclassing, Transmutation Wizards are uniquely suited to acting as non-combat support by crafting potions, using Rogue or Bard levels to gain medicine expertise and more efficiently double all potion production. They can also make use of levels in Fighter or Cleric for access to medium and heavy armor, much like the other Wizard subclasses.

Naturally, the Giant Barbarian can make great use of the two equipment sets that were clearly designed with Barbarians in mind, the Wrath Set and the Bonespike Set. Picking up the Enraging Heart Garb at Moonrise, for example, is a great way to get extra Constitution and (If the bug with Ruintamer Heart gets fixed) get the Wrath buff by raging.

Clerics are capable of being one of the game's strongest healers and source of party buffs, but they can also be incredibly powerful spellcasters and melee brawlers that have access to spells similar to the Druid or Wizard's repertoire. No matter which BG3 Cleric domain you choose, all players get access to the Turn Undead, Destroy Undead, and Divine Intervention abilities at various levels, too.

Each of the classes available to the player in Baldur's Gate 3 possess a variety of abilities and capabilities that allow them to explore the world and engage in combat. Each class can then choose a subclass, gaining abilities themed around that particular subclass that further diversify that character from others using that class. For the Wizard, the subclasses are known as "Schools," and one can be chosen for each of the eight schools of magic.

The Eldritch Knight subclass allows the fighter to learn a small selection of spells from the schools of Evocation and Abjuration , allowing them access to magic to buff themselves and damage their foes. They gain the ability to cast first-level spells once they reach Fighter Level three, with two spell slots to use when doing so.

But aside from useful racial spells, Githyanki give another important benefit to Wizards: armor proficiencies. As a Githyanki Wizard, players can equip Light and Medium armor, a huge AC boost over robes and clothing. The Astral Knowlegde ability can be incredibly useful for Dialogue checks and dice rolls, too.
