Infernal Rapier (1d8+2 Piercing, Rapier, Very Rare): Getting this weapon for Wyll and then giving this to the team's Bard can give players access to the Planar Ally Spell. While only usable once per Long Rest, this extra Cambion ally can significantly add to the player's overall firepower, especially since it's far stronger than a typical pet.
At level two, the School of Transmutation offers "Transmutation Savant" and "Experimental Alchemy." The former halves the cost of scribing Transmutation spells , while the latter allows the creation of twice as many alchemical solutions when performing alchemy (if the Wizard succeeds a DC15 Medicine Check each time.) Players who enjoy brewing their own potions should definitely consider this School.
At Level 1, The Great Old One gives Warlocks access to Tasha's Hideous Laughter or Dissonant Whispers , and then at Level 3, they can use Detect Thoughts and Phantasmal Force. Playing as a Great Old One Warlock means committing nearly entirely to being a spellcaster, so only engage in combat from a distance.
Taking a level of Wizard will allow players to learn any Wizard spell that they find a scroll for and cast them using their higher-level spell slots from Druid, though they will still use the character's intelligence score when determining attack rolls and saving throws. A level or two of Tempest Domain Cleric can also be very effective, especially if players are using a lot of lightning damage and/or wish to equip heavy armor or a wider range of weapons.
Charlatan (Deception, Sleight of Hand): Possessing a special knack for twisting their words, Charlatans can make allies turn on each other for profit and amusement. Their Deception Proficiency allows them to fool others, while Sleight of Hand makes thieving easier.
Gloom Stalkers are ambush specialists and gain abilities as they level up to aid in exactly that. At level three, they get the abilities "Dread Ambusher," "Dread Ambusher: Hide," "Umbral Shroud," and "Superior Darkvision." The first of these allows them a +3 bonus to initiative rolls while also letting them move 3m further and deal an extra 1d8 damage on the first turn of BG3 Monk combat tactics.
Battle Master - Maneouvres: Specific to the Battle Master , their Maneouvres give Fighters a similar level of utility to Spellcasting Classes. While their damage numbers don’t compare to traditional Spells, the extra movement options and variability in effects, such as disarming foes, can make Bards a more tactical Class.
Putting all of that together, players will be gaining Lightning Charges constantly from casting spells and standing in electrified water, which won't hurt them because of the Sparkswall Ring. Those lightning charges will boost the character's AC by 1, add lightning damage to all their attacks (including spell attacks), and deal even more lightning damage when they max out by spending the whole stack. The Lifebringer adds temporary HP as long as the character has lightning charges, while the Real Sparky Sparkswall allows them to burn three charges to create a lightning aura that jolts nearby foes. Finally, the Blast Pendant uses up all available lightning charges to empower the next spell or cantrip used, adding extra lightning damage to it.
For example, players could focus on lightning damage, picking up the Spellsparkler staff from Waukeen's Rest (by rescuing Counsellor Florrick), the Jolty Vest from Brem in the Zhentarim Hideout, and the Watersparkers from the chest behind Minthara at the Goblin Camp. Add the Blast Pendant, worn by one of the Petrified Drow near the Selunite Outpost, and the Sparkswall Ring from the Mage Tower Basement in the Underdark. Buy the Lifebringer from Blurg in the Underdark Colony to complete the ensemble. After reaching Grymforge in Act 1, players should replace the Jolty Vest with the Protecty Sparkswall for better spell save DCs and pick up The Real Sparky Sparkswall shield, also found in Grymforge.
Naturally, as a spellcasting-focused Druid subclass, the Circle of Stars Druid will also benefit greatly from most of the equipment we recommended for the Circle of the Land Druid. Spell Save DC-boosting items like Melf's First Staff, the Cloak of the Weave, and Markoheshkir can be incredibly useful to the Circle of the Stars Druid, making it harder for enemies to resist their spells.
During Act 1, players should seek out Omeluum at the Myconoid Colony to acquire the Pearl of Power, allowing them to restore a level 3 or lower spell slot once per long rest. (Omeluum will sell the amulet once players help them to investigate the parasite.)
The Ranger subclasses in Baldur's Gate 3 allow the Ranger to gain additional abilities inspired by the Ranger's core concept as a Scout that hunts dangerous foes and has a deep understanding of the natural world. The Beast Master subclass allows them to acquire an Animal Companion to aid them in battle, the Hunter chooses a specialization to aid them in taking down their chosen foes, and the Gloom Stalker learns to steel their mind against mind-altering effects and strike at their foes from the shadows. Rangers select their subclass at level Three.
