At level six, a Goolock gains the ability "Entropic Ward," allowing them to impose a disadvantage on an incoming attack as a reaction. Should that attack miss, they then gain an advantage on their next attack against the failed attacker. This can be used once per short rest.
At Level 3, Oathbreakers gain two additional Channel Oath Abilities, Control Undead and Dreadful Aspect. Control Undead allows Oathbreakers to gain control over an undead creature, allowing them to gain a temporary ally if the creature fails a Wisdom Saving Throw. Dreadful Aspect allows them to create a pulse that frightens nearby enemies that fail a Wisdom Saving Throw. They also gain the spells "Hellish Rebuke" and " Inflict Wounds " as additional prepared spells, allowing them to counterattack with fire and deal necrotic damage at a distance.
Though Warlocks only have a few spell slots for the majority of the game, these slots uniquely refresh with either a Short or Long Rest. It doesn't mean bg3 tournament Warlock builds can be totally carefree when it comes to slinging spells in combat, but it does keep Warlocks going longer than classes that fully rely on their Spell Slots, no matter how many are available.

In the case of the Barbarian class, they may now choose the Path of Giants subclass, allowing them to channel the elemental strength of giants to grow in size and throw their enemies around in various ways. They may also empower their weapons with elemental damage and the thrown property, allowing them to easily hurl greatswords and other two-handed weapons. This guide has been updated to discuss the new subclass, multiclassing options that pair well with it, and equipment that works particularly well with this subclass.
Paladins of the Oath of the Crown swear themselves to the ideals of Civilization, of Law and Order. Oath of the Crown Paladins will violate their oath if they break their word, take unlawful actions, or torture people. At first level, they get the Channel Oath ability "Righteous Clarity", which can be used to give a target a bonus to their attack rolls equal to the target's proficiency bonus. While this doesn't sound too crazy, it can be a very effective and efficient way of improving an ally's chance to hit.
Baldur's Gate 3 's Barbarian Class is focused on strength and durability first and foremost, with access to the highest base HP of any class alongside abilities like Rage to allow them to withstand incoming damage and dish out a ton of damage themselves. Each of the Barbarian's subclasses are focused on how they fight and any additional power sources that fuel their rage. The Berserker replaces Rage with Frenzy for greater offensive benefits, the Wildheart takes primal animal aspects to gain additional powers while raging, and the Wild Magic Barbarian wields chaotic magic to strengthen their rage and fortify their body. Barbarians choose their subclass when they reach level three.
The Great Old One Warlock is one of the best Warlock builds because of its access to powerful, battle-turning control spells that complement the class spell list. By binding oneself to a pact with the Great Old One, Warlocks gain the Mortal Reminder passive, which makes enemies Frightened on crits.
Baldur's Gate 3 offers players an array of different classes to choose from, each offering unique abilities and skills to aid them during combat and when exploring the world. The Warlock Class is a particularly unusual arcane caster that receives its power from a powerful and mysterious patron via a pact.
Where multiclassing is concerned, Warlock pairs excellently with the other Charisma Caster classes: Paladin, Bard, and Sorcerer. A Paladin with Pact of the Blade can dump their strength stat entirely and focus on Charisma, gaining better spellcasting with no loss in their melee combat capabilities, while also using the Warlock's spell slots (which recharge on a short rest) to dish out Divine Smites more often. Access to Metamagic from the Sorcerer can allow some incredibly busted combos through the use of quickened spell and distant spell, including the ability to rapid-fire 6 eldritch blasts in a single turn at level 10. Bards with the College of Swords subclass can make excellent use of the Pact of the Blade to reduce the number of attributes they need to worry about, while also gaining access to a much wider range of damage and support spells from the Bard spell list and Magical Secrets.
Players looking to strengthen their defenses further should instead grab the Bonespike set, consisting of the "Bonespike Helmet", "Bonespike Garb", "Bonespike Gloves", and "Bonespike Boots." These generate temporary hit points, boost AC, allow attacks to ignore physical resistances, and add a chance for raging to cause psychic damage to nearby foes.
Though Sorcerers might think they should stay away from combat, a Draconic Bloodline Sorcerer performs just as well up close as they do at a range. Their higher AC and HP compared to other casters is really noticeable, and the class' use of Metamagic skills to amplify the effects of their spellcasting just makes close-range and AoE spells hit more often, or hit harder.
