The Circle of Stars Druid pairs very nicely with the Light Domain Cleric, taking advantage of Warding Flare to avoid incoming attacks and Radiance of the Dawn to fire off a Radiant Damage AOE. Mixing in two levels of Fighter for Action Surge and access to a wider range of weapons and armor is also a great option, allowing you to cast multiple spells in a single turn.
At level five, Light Domain Clerics gain the spells "Daylight" and "Fireball" as Domain spells too. Fireball is both self-explanatory and very powerful in combat, while Daylight allows the Cleric to enchant an object or create a sphere of sunlight, both of which will then emit sunlight that dispels darkness. It can also deal damage to a certain vampire that players might encounter during their adventure, at a rate of 20 damage per turn.
Druids are one of the most diverse, complex classes in Baldur's Gate 3 thanks to the sheer variety of options available to it. Druids are equally capable of being ranged spellcasters as they are close-up tanks, though the best BG3 Druid builds lean into buffing the latter.

One's choice of deity as a Cleric doesn't affect the game altogether too much, aside from unlocking some unique dialogue options. As a Life Domain build that's focused on healing and support, it makes the most sense to go with either Selûne or Bahamut when it comes to deity choice in character creation.
The Nature Domain Cleric is an excellent crowd-control specialist and pairs surprisingly well with other classes that gain access to crowd-control spells. Since Plant Growth isn't a concentration spell, it can stack with several powerful field-creating options. Anything altering the ground will override the Plant Growth, so players should pair it with Darkness, Hunger of Hadar, Fog Cloud, Stinking Cloud, Cloudkill, and Insect Plague for the best results. Combining Plant Growth with Hunger of Hadar, for example, will trap enemies in a field where they can barely move and are constantly taking cold and acid damage, while also rendering them blind.

If you are dead set on including a character in your party, simply talk to Withers to respec them to one of the optimal Cleric companion classes listed above. This way, you won't miss out on that character's questline, and you won't have to suffer from an improperly balanced party.
The Enchantment School grants the abilities "Enchantment Savant" and "Hypnotic Gaze" at level two. "Enchantment Savant" allows them to scribe Enchantment spells into their spellbook for half the normal price , while "Hypnotic Gaze" allows them to charm a foe within melee range and prevent it from moving or attacking (if the target fails a Wisdom saving throw.)
At level six, the Druid gains "Land's Stride: Difficult Terrain," which allows the Druid to move through difficult terrain without getting slowed down. At level seven, elemental throwing mechanics the Druid gets to select a spell circle to draw spells from once again, gaining some additional level four spells in the process.
