The max level in Baldur's Gate 3 is Level 12, and most of the time, each level you gain will grant something new for your Cleric build. In character creation, you gain the basics for the Cleric class, then steadily gain Feat Choices, new spells and abilities, subclass features, and increase your Proficiency Bonus.

At level six, a Goolock gains the ability "Entropic Ward," allowing them to impose a disadvantage on an incoming attack as a reaction. Should that attack miss, they then gain an advantage on their next attack against the failed attacker. This can be used once per short rest.

Being a Dwarf means having a slightly reduced total Movement Distance, but what it lacks in mobility it makes up for with Dwarven Resilience, Superior Darkvision, and several weapon proficiencies Clerics don't normally have.

For defensive options, players should pick up the Cloak of Displacement from Entharl Danthelon in Wyrm's Crossing and the Boots of Persistence from Dammon in the Lower City (assuming he survived until Act 3.) The former gives enemies disadvantage on attack rolls against the wearer until the first time the wearer takes damage on each turn. The latter provides permanent Freedom of Movement (same as the spell), Longstrider (same as the spell), and a +1 bonus to Dexterity saving throws. The "Legacy of the Masters" gloves are also sold by Dammon during Act 3, offering +2 to attack rolls and damage with all weapons. Picking these up can make any martial character more effective , so they're worth grabbing if Dammon is alive.

Respec Journey: Ending up with a Bard/Ranger Multiclass during a Baldur’s Gate 3 run requires patience due to the inherent weakness of this combo’s base DPS. It’s usually ideal to first respec into Fighter with the Archery Fighting Style for additional combat potential.

Domain spells work just like other spells, and are highlighted in the spell list when leveling to avoid picking them twice. Channel Divinity abilities vary from domain to domain, and offer powerful effects from limited Channel Divinity charges. Clerics gain Channel Divinity charges at Level 2 and 6, which replenish on either a Short or Long Rest.

As a support sub-class, the Life Domain Cleric can deal damage when it needs to, but most of the time players will stay far from enemies and close to their teammates, ready with a buff or a heal when needed. The Disciple of Life passive gives a bit of extra healing with each spell cast, and can even heal themself with each cast at later levels.

At level six, the Druid gets "Primal Strike," treating their natural attacks as magical for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction while they are transformed. They gain Saber-Toothed Tiger as a Wildshape at level eight, which has the ability to shred through armor. At level ten, the druid gets access to four "Elemental Myrmidon" wildshapes, allowing them to take on elemental forms to modify their damage type and take advantage of environmental conditions. (Lighting Oil on Fire, Electrifying Water, etc.)

In terms of multiclassing, the Swarmkeeper Ranger pairs very well with Thief or Assassin Rogues , the former being particularly useful in a dual-wielding build while the latter performs better if you're using a ranged weapon. The Life Domain Cleric isn't the most powerful Cleric build when it comes to raw damage output. But when one considers the breadth of buffs and support skills available to this subclass , it's easy to see its benefits and its ability to get a party to get through otherwise overwhelming foes, where extra damage wouldn't help.
