The Conjuration School grants Wizards the abilities "Conjuration Savant" and "Minor Conjuration: Create Water" at level two. The former allows them to scribe conjuration spells into their spellbook for half the cost, while the latter allows them to create water as an action once per short rest (behaving identically to the "Create Water" part of the spell " Create or Destroy Water .")

Though Sorcerers might think they should stay away from combat, a Draconic Bloodline Sorcerer performs just as well up close as they do at a range. Their higher AC and HP compared to other casters is really noticeable, and the class' use of Metamagic skills to amplify the effects of their spellcasting just makes close-range and AoE spells hit more often, or hit harder.

At level five, the Wizard gains an extra Bladesong use per long rest, going from two to three. Then, level 6 Bladesinging Wizards receive Extra Attack, allowing them to attack twice with their weapon of choice. At level nine, the Wizard gets one more Bladesong use per long rest, bringing their total uses per long rest to four. Finally, at level ten, they get Song of Defense, allowing them to spend a spell slot to reduce incoming damage by five multiplied by the level of the spell slot. This can be used to reduce or even nullify incoming damage.

At level seven, they add "Fire Shield" and "Wall of Fire" to their list of possible spells, giving them additional defensive options and the ability to create hazardous obstacles for their foes. At level nine, "Cone of Cold" and "Flame Strike" become available, giving them powerful cold and radiant damage options.

This update focuses on discussing the Bladesinging subclass and magic items that synergize well with its main playstyle.

For defensive options, players should pick up the Cloak of Displacement from Entharl Danthelon in Wyrm's Crossing and the Boots of Persistence from Dammon in the Lower City (assuming he survived until Act 3.) The latter provides permanent Freedom of Movement (same as the spell), Longstrider (same as the spell), and a +1 bonus to Dexterity saving throws. Picking these up can make any martial character more effective , so they're worth grabbing if Dammon is alive.
