What binds these weapons together in one category is their meager drop rate of 0.5% and their unique passive that rewards players with runes upon landing an attack. This passive varies slightly between each weapon, but upgrading them does not increase the number of runes that players get per hit, which may incentivize some players to keep them at their lowest level to farm more runes per enemy in Elden Ring .
