There are a total of three BG3 Patrons (subclasses) Warlock players can try out, each of which focuses on different aspects of the class, and offers a selection of unique skills, proficiencies, and other features. As you level up in one of these BG3 Warlock subclasses, you will gain more abilities that are unique to your subclass choice.
The best Wizard companions in BG3 are Shadowheart as the primary support of the party, Lae'Zel as your melee tank, and Astarion as another melee party member who can do extremely high damage and provide some use out of combat too.
The Outlander background doesn't give proficiency in Perception or Insight, so feel free to pick up these two skills with this background combination too. As a Druid, picking up Nature or Religion can be good for RP purposes, though there aren't quite as many uses for these skills in the game.
The Circle of The Land is a spellcasting-focused subclass that has access to a wide variety of damage types, allowing players to work around resistances with multiple elements, or focus on a single element and push it to its limits. Players could take advantage of this by grabbing some of the element-themed magic items that can be found throughout the game, many of which can be found as early as Act 1.
The Ranger multiclass option for Druids is a bit more of a memey build, but a relatively effective one nonetheless. By dipping three levels into the Ranger class as a Druid, a character will be able to select a Ranger subclass.
Also, Sages tend to trigger Inspiration from typical Wizard activities, like learning new spells, uncovering lost tomes, and otherwise engaging with the mystical forces of the Weave and other forms of magic.
These allow the Berserker to perform an additional attack or Throw a nearby object/creature, respectively, and each only uses a Bonus Action. This allows the Berserker to dish out extra damage on every turn while raging, making them an excellent choice for players who want to prioritize damage output.
In Baldur's Gate 3 , the Warlock class is widely considered to be the easiest caster to learn and play , but that doesn't mean it's not powerful. Warlocks don't have as many spell slots as other spellcasters, but they make up for that with an incredibly powerful Cantrip and access to some of the game's best control spells.
Players can also specialize in cold damage, taking advantage of powerful spells like Sleet Storm, Ice Storm, and Cone of Cold to create icy terrain and disrupt the enemy. The first thing players should do when building for cold damage on a spellcaster is grab the Mourning Frost. This powerful staff can be found in three pieces scattered across Act 1 and boosts cold damage. It also applies the "chilled" condition to anyone hit by the wielder's cold damage unless they succeed a constitution saving throw. This condition causes them to take double damage from cold damage and inflicts "frozen" on them if they receive the "Wet" condition. While Frozen, they take double damage from bludgeoning, force, and thunder damage.
Karlach : Best suited for the Berserker subclass, Karlach is capable of dealing some of the most consistent, highest-hitting melee attacks on her own, and with two supports you won't be at a loss for HP or dispels
All Wizards get access to a list of ridiculously useful out-of-combat spells, but Evocation Wizards specifically hone in on their ability to dish out massive damage in a short amount of time. All Dice Skins Bg3 Wizards suffer from the lack of easily rechargeable spell slots, but Evocation Wizards can put these limited slots to good use – plus, Arcane Recovery can help when a Long Rest isn't possible.
The max level in Baldur's Gate 3 is Level 12, and most of the time, each level you gain will grant something new for your Warlock build. On character creation you gain the basics for the Warlock class, then steadily gain Feat Choices, new spells and abilities, subclass features, and increase your Proficiency Bonus.
Most of Baldur's Gate 3 's classes only have three subclasses to choose from, but clerics are able to choose from seven options. The domains of Life, Light, Trickery, Knowledge, Nature, Tempest, and War all offer a cleric different abilities. A Cleric chooses their subclass at level one to reflect the power of their god's domain. What subclass they can choose is limited by the domains made available by their chosen Deity (which is also selected at level one).
At level Six, Wild Magic Barbarians gain three "Bolstering Magic" abilities, which allow them to provide a bonus to themselves or an ally in melee range. They can use "Bolstering Magic: Boon" to add a 1d4 bonus to attack rolls and ability checks or use their Bolstering Boon to restore a single level one, two, or three spell slot.

In the case of the Barbarian class, they may now choose the Path of Giants subclass, allowing them to channel the elemental strength of giants to grow in size and throw their enemies around in various ways. They may also empower their weapons with elemental damage and the thrown property, allowing them to easily hurl greatswords and other two-handed weapons. This guide has been updated to discuss the new subclass, multiclassing options that pair well with it, and equipment that works particularly well with this subclass.
