Elden Ring has a greater focus on magic than previous FromSoftware titles, and there are two kinds that players can learn: Incantations and Sorceries. Of the two, Sorceries are more focused on damage and ranged firepower, and scale from Intelligence. Whether players are building a pure sorcerer or a hybrid character, knowing which Sorceries to equip is essential to making the most of Elden Ring 's ma
Fire and Souls games have always had a successful marriage. And despite Fire being but a mere mistress in Elden Ring , it's still a rather important mechanic in the game. Fire damage is no joke, and it can easily catch an overconfident Tarnished off-guard. Anything from the Magma Wyrm boss or even the dragons to those torch-wielding commoner enemies is bound to add fuel to the f
There are three different versions of Morgott in Elden Ring : one can be found at the entrance to Stormveil Castle, one is located in the outer wall of Leyndell, and one is found at foot of the Erdtree, at the end of Leyndell itself.
Updated October 28, 2024 by Erik Petrovich : When it comes to how to activate the Morgott and Mohg Great Runes, Elden Ring players are in luck: it's actually the same spot. What isn't quite so simple is making sure to head to the right boss location to get both Mohg and Morgott's Great Runes. These two Omen brothers have several locations throughout the game, but only one of their fights actually yields each boss' Great Rune when defeated. This guide has been updated with some more detailed information about how to get to Mohg and Morgott's locations in Elden Ring, as well as some details on the Divine Tower of East Altus and the effects of each Rune.
Morgott's Great Rune is a bit More Help straightforward. It will greatly buff a player's health, by a multiplicative of 25 percent. What's even better is that this effect can even take place after players have used buffs and talismans to gain additional health, making the effect even stronger.
Consecrated Snowfield is something of a special case. Two Night's Cavalry will be guarding a Hearse near the Inner Consecrated Snowfield grace. Both riders must be defeated to get the drops. They leave the Night's Cavalry armor and an Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone, so seek them out.
There are two different Mohgs in Elden Ring : one can be found below Leyndell, in the Shunning Grounds barring a secret entrance to the Deeproot Depths, and one can be found atop Mohgwyn Palace, an endgame area devoted to the Formless Mother and the Mohgwyn Dynasty. The Shunning Grounds version of Mohg is actually a Shade, while the real version – the one that drops Mohg's Great Rune – is found in Mohgwyn Palace.
Night's Cavalry appear depending on the time of day too, but they're always seen at night. All of them either drop their signature armor/weapons or valuable Ashes of War like the Bloodhounds Step. The final two Night's Cavalry encountered in Consecrated Snowfield even leave an extra Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone for players who manage to defeat them. The ten Night's Cavalry can be found in the following spots:
Using Mohg's Great Rune will apply the Blessing of Blood to any of the player's summoned Spirit Ashes . This blessing causes them to gain a damage buff whenever Bloodloss is inflicted on an enemy in the vicinity and any enemy they kill near the player will heal the player for 10 percent of their maximum health.
Okay, so now that most of the bosses have been defeated and most of the dungeons have been found and looted, the only thing left to do is spend all those extra runes at the Twin Maiden Husks Shop in Roundtable Hold. All bell bearings (and the items they unlock) are lost upon starting new game plus, so it's best to buy up as many rare consumables, materials and smithing stones as possible before starting that next run. New game plus is all about playing around with new weapons and such, and it's much easier to do that with a well-stocked inventory. Don't worry about banking runes, there will be plenty more of them in the next run. The best thing to do now is spend 'em!
Also, make sure to also find all the Walking Mausoleums and duplicate any Rememberances one might have on hand. In general, secret bosses Rememberances should take priority since they're more difficult to seek out, but then it's more about what one does and doesn't want to do in their next playthrough. Don't want to beat a boss again but do want all their stuff? Duplicate. Going to fight 'em again? Maybe don't duplicate. In case it's needed, here's a list of Walking Mausoleum locations, just remember that only the ones with bells are able to duplicate major boss rememberances.
Black Knife : The Black Knife hits S-tier primarily for its ability, Blade of Death. Despite a cumbersome animation, the Blade of Death ability does a hefty amount of damage and applies a damage-over-time eff
Deathbirds (and Death Rite Birds) are worth taking-out for two reasons: they're too ugly to be left alive, and they give all sorts of interesting loot. Some drop weapons, others drop shields, while still others drop talismans and other stuff. It's worth hunting down all eight monstrously hideous birds, but encountering them often depends on the time of day.
