As for my personal opinion, I find myself using Smash Stance the most, followed by Thrust (which I often use to initiate combat and close distance on enemies), and then Pillar the least. With that said, I started using Pillar a lot more after unlocking Gale's Blessing, especially when up against groups.

You’ll likely only get hit by this tackle if you’re too near the boss. The tackle itself doesn’t deal as much damage. You can avoid it by creating some distance from the boss or dodging backwards . The second hit is slow and is similar to all the jumping smashes the boss throws at you.

Smash Stance also allows you to move around freely while charging a heavy attack and can even be used to charge while sprinting if you purchase the appropriate upgrade, making it a great stance with which to initiate fights. Running in with a fully-charged heavy attack can shave tons of health off an enemy or crush weaker foes in a single blow. That said, Smash Stance's attacks aren't great at hitting multiple targets unless they're standing in a straight line when you go for a Skyfall Strike, so you'll probably want to swap to Pillar Stance for that.

Be wary of his combos while keeping in mind that you don’t have to dodge everything. Just dodge the first strike for most of the boss' attacks and then create some distance by sprinting away . This is the earliest spell that you'll obtain in Black Myth: Wukong. This spell enables you to stop and freeze your enemies in their tracks for a brief period. You can then use this time to either heal or inflict enough damage on your foe that the spell "crashes" and they become mobile again. Keep in mind, some more powerful enemies can nullify the spell's effects. When it comes to more imposing hostiles, it's best to use this spell when they are staggered or exhausted.

At close range, Tiger Vanguard may unleash a 4-hit combo with his sword. The first attack is a quick kick into two quick slashes , while the final slash is very delayed and can be challenging to avoid. The boss may also follow up with another 3-hit sword combo , where all three strikes are done in quick succession.

As his combo enders, the Tiger’s Acolyte may use these moves that will send a straight shockwave on the ground , dealing damage to the player if they’re hit by it. You can recognize this attack by the little sparks that fly as the shockwave is travelling through the ground.

This spell provides a layer of defensive cover. As its name implies, Ring of Fire conjures a circle of flame on the ground that can not only harm foes but provide boosts while the player is inside the circle. This spell will become available in Chapter 3 once you defeat Macaque Chief in the temple courtyard.

This attack is only troublesome because the shockwave doesn’t come out sometimes, and you miss out on the opportunity to get in some hits. The shockwave itself is easy to avoid by dodging or moving away as it only travels in a straight line at a slow speed.

As a variable combo, once unlocked, Pillar Stance allows you to use Sweeping Gale. This has the destined one plant the staff ahead of them and spin around it, performing a multi-hit kick in the process. This can strike multiple enemies around you, which can help clear some space if you're being swarmed by weaker foes. After purchasing the Gale's Blessing upgrade you'll take considerably less damage while performing the spin, making it less risky to use.
